January 2009

Recently had a visit from the UPS man, who dropped off 20 boxes at our little abode. We really have no where to keep these, and they are currently stacked up in the breezeway to the carport. We have to squeeze by them every time we need to go out.

I am narrowing down the lighting for the inner-part of my installation piece and wanted to show one of my test lily pad roots. They don’t take a long time to put together, but I plan to have over thirty done for the show.

Just wanted to let everyone know that we have added the work of Peg Martin to the show. Peg’s photographs were taken in this region and feature the sights (and probably sounds and smells) of central Florida. We are very happy to have photography represented and these are some great images.

Earlier this week we confirmed to location for the event, which will be at the rear of Say It Loud (the Big Orange Building on Mills), on Saturday, February 28, 2009.

Also stay tuned for a possible update concerning another artist who’s work we look forward to featuring in the show.

Things are shaping up for a fantastic night, and we are working on making the Altered State exhibit unlike anything seen in the area.

Altered State is a group show exploring the intersection of society and development, especially in the central part of the state. Over the next few weeks we’ll dedicate this space to discussing and showing the progress of various sculptures/installations/paintings to be a part of this one night only ground breaking event.
